Abstract
Father Jean-Marie Vianney Sebera, Father François Ngomirakiza, eight Benedictine nuns from Sovu and a postulant were killed in Ndago on July 5, 1994. During the evacuation of Butare on July 3, their vehicle following a convoy towards Burundi organized by the French soldiers was abandoned by them at a barrier. The next day, the clerics reportedly found a French military convoy returning to Gikongoro but abandoned them at another barrier. The responsibility of the French military for Operation Turquoise is engaged.
