Abstract
The GIR fled to Zaire on July 19, 1994. For another week, the ZHS was to serve as a refuge where the FAR and the gendarmes retreated en masse. In all, on July 21, 1994, 6,000 of them took the opportunity to flee to Zaire without fearing the RPF.
