On May 20, 2025, in the online discussion forum published on the show's website, Daniel Schneidermann reversed his remarks, citing the simple argument of clumsiness: "It was with a regrettable shortcut of language that I spoke of 'genocides turned genocidaires' in relation to Rwanda, a subject that I had not planned to address with EP. I do not subscribe to the theory of 'double genocide' concocted by certain French authorities to minimize their complicity in the genocide of the Tutsi. Apologies to subscribers". It is equally "regrettable" that Edwy Plenel did not see fit to repeat his interviewer's erroneous presentation, even giving the impression of validating it by focusing the contradiction on the details of a date of presence or absence, on site, of the journalist Corine Lesnes.
