NAIROBI, Oct 25 (AFP) - Zairean President Mobutu Sese Seko and his Rwandan counterpart Juvenal Habyarimana have met and discussed the situation in Burundi where rebel soldiers staged a coup last week, Rwandan radio reported Monday.
"It is important to put Burundi back on the democratic path which Burundians chose for themselves in the democratic elections in June," the radio quoted the leaders as saying after their meeting in the northern Zairean town of Gbadolite Sunday.
The success of democracy in Burundi will benefit the Economic Community of the Countries of the Great Lakes (CEPGL), which groups Zaire, Rwanda and Burundi, they added.
