The tired and logistically short "Tutsi attackers" take a break. The airborne battalion and the reconnaissance battalion return to Kigali. The Gazelle attack therefore broke the offensive of the RPF troops. It is not known that their leader Rwigema was killed. The attack on Kigali on the night of 4 to 5 is attributed to "armed Tutsis". 800 Belgian paratroopers disembark and a Zairian battalion will be sent to Rwanda.
