KIGALI, Jan 27 (AFP) - Youths claiming to support Rwanda's military leader have killed at least 80 people and injured several hundred others in attacks on their opponents, according to an official provisional toll published Wednesday.
Young Hutus in President Juvenal Habyarimana's National Republican Movement for Democracy and Development (MRNDD) have in the past six days attacked members of the ethnic Tutsi minority and political opponents among the Hutu, particularly in the northwestern Gisenyi and western Kibuye districts.
