BUJUMBURA, Nov 11 (AFP) - Fifty-eight people arrested in Burundi in August and September for allegedly trying to destabilise the country are to go on trial in the coming few days, officials said here Monday.
They were picked up in Cybitoke province bordering Rwanda and Zaire and in Rutana facing Tanzania.
Most of them were reportedly caught red-handed distributing pamphlets and tape recordings calling for a civil disobedience campaign and inter-tribal war.
The officials said the trials would be public.
