BRUSSELS, April 8 (Reuter) - Belgian airline Sabena will send a Boeing
737 plane to Entebbe, Uganda, where it will be on standby for a
possible evacuation of Belgian nationals from Rwanda.
The plane will fly to Entebbe and remain on standby there,
a Sabena
spokeswoman said.
The plane can be used if the Belgian government decides during an
emergency cabinet meeting this afternoon to evacuate its 1,500
nationals and other foreigners in Rwanda.
She said the plane would not fly to Bujumbura because it was uncertain
whether the situation would remain calm there.
A DC-10 plane will make a scheduled flight to Bujumbura tonight and
return via Entebbe, she said. The DC-10 will not be on standby, she
added.-- Bert Lauwers +32 2 287 6815
