Résumé
The FAR fired on the CND where an RPF battalion is stationed from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. then from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. At dawn, the presidential guard eliminates political leaders of the opposition and Rwandans of Tutsi ethnicity. Mr. Landoald Ndasingwa, PL Minister of Social Affairs and Mrs. Agathe Uwilingiyimana, Prime Minister were killed. The ministers of information and agriculture were also probably eliminated. UNAMIR admits its impotence.
Commentaire
In his report of April 19, Lieutenant-Colonel Maurin no longer says that the FAR bombarded the RPF at the CND. It is noted that at 1 p.m., J.J. Maurin is already informed of the death of the Prime Minister. On the other hand, he does not speak of the lynching of Belgian blue helmets but of ten Ghanaians who are detained in the Kigali camp. It should also be noted that he evokes the benevolence enjoyed by French nationals on the part of the presidential guard and the Rwandan army.
