Pierre Péan's very controversial book on the 1994 genocide in Rwanda offers an opportunity to reflect on the complex relations that the press maintains with those in power who are, in turn, its best sources and its best targets. If he burdens Rwanda with Kagame, the author seems just as eager to come to the aid of another state, France.
